Karachi,
July 02, 2013: Ufone, an
Etisalat Group Company with its presence in all the major cities with a
comprehensive coverage across Pakistan, is launching Golf Clinic for children
across the country. Under this initiative, the telecom company will provide
unique opportunity of training with the best and top-ranked players in the
country to children.
This is for the first time in the history
of Pakistan that a telecom company has taken up the precision club and ball
sport. The main ideology behind this initiative is that since Golf is a budding
sport in Pakistan and the best time to start training for any sport is youth,
it is important that Golf is promoted among the talented youngsters of this country.
Talking about the Golf – Kids Clinic Amir Pasha Head
of PR & CSR - Ufone said, “Ufone has been supporting Golfers for a number
of years. Our sponsored players include the top 4 players in the country. We
are prompting these players to help prepare future Golfers in Pakistan who will
get this once in a lifetime opportunity to train and play with the best.”
Two of the coaches who will be participating in the Ufone Golf - Kids
Clinic are Azhar Shah Bukhari and Mohammad Nazir. Both of these players are
certified USGTF (United States Golf Teachers Federation) trainers. Mohammad
Nazir is currently Pakistan number 4 while Shabbir Iqbal and Matloob Ahmed have
held onto the Pakistan number 1 and number 2 slots for a number of years.
Speaking at the Media Lunch of Ufone Golf -
Kids Clinic Matloob Ahmed Pakistan number 2 said, “It cannot be emphasized
enough that recreational activities and sports need corporate support. However
Golf has never been able to grab the limelight like other sports and now with
Ufone coming forward to foster future Golfers in Pakistan, I feel a new era of
Golf has begun in our country.”
Since its
inception, Ufone has focused on the people of Pakistan, empowering them with
the most relevant yet futuristic communication modes, services and packages. Ufone
Golf - Kids Clinic is yet another revolutionary programme being launched by the
