Gilgit-Baltistan Mourns the Loss of Veteran Politician Haider Wali and His Son
Gilgit: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and retired Tehsildar Haider Wali, along with his young son Shehzad Haider Wali, lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident that occurred at Henzel in Gilgit district on Sunday.
The funeral prayers for the deceased were offered at the Central Jamat Khana in Gilgit. The funeral was attended by newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate, former Speaker Nazir Ahmed Advocate, Member of the Assembly Syed Jalal Ali, Provincial Secretary for Law Fida Hussain Fida, and hundreds of people from different walks of life.
Following the funeral prayers, the bodies of the father and son were transported to their ancestral hometown of Gupis, where they will be laid to rest later today.
Haider Wali was widely respected in the political and social circles of Gilgit-Baltistan and was regarded as a dignified and influential personality. His sudden death, along with that of his son, has caused deep sorrow across the region, with many expressing grief and condolences over the tragic loss.
